Following a recent committee decision to close the club permanently on Wednesdays, several members have offered to staff the bar on a voluntary basis for a trial period to see if things pick up.
Traditionally, Wednesdays have been the quietest night of the week, despite the number of attendees for matches during bowling season. The club has shut over winter on Wednesdays for several years but a recent review of the accounts showed that most Wednesdays last year did not make enough money to cover the overheads.
The club will now be open from 7.30pm until 10.30pm on Wednesdays until further notice. No other nights are affected by this and the club is open as normal.
