The committee recently looked at takings over the course of the past year or so and have reluctantly taken the decision to close the club permanently on Wednesday nights. The club is already shut on Wednesdays outside of bowling season but takings were below what is considered to be an acceptable operating rate even during peak season and it is now costing the club money to stay open as staff and running costs still have to be paid.
Takings on Wednesday nights have traditionally been much lower than any other night of the week and this is a similar trend in many other local establishments. Although the committee have taken the decision reluctantly, it has been weighed up as in the best interests for the long-term future of the club.
Bowling is not affected and the season will run as normal.
